Q. Will I need to provide additional details to a mastering facility for content to be mastered in SMPTE format?
A. Depending on the territory bookings, simply request the mastering facility to master as SMPTE.
Q. Can I master and distribute content as INTEROP and SMPTE together as dual inventory?
A. This is bad practice and should be avoided at all costs.
Q. Is all equipment SMPTE compliant?
A. No, unfortunately not. Early hardware models do not meet security constraints outlined by the standards and are considered End Of Life.
Q. What if exhibitors experience problems with ingest or playback of SMPTE content?
A. Head over to the troubleshooting section to see if one of the solutions can assist you. If not, it is recommended that you contact the relevant mastering house support helpline.
Q. When will Feature Titles start to be released in SMPTE format?
A. Feature titles have already been released. See the status section for a listing of some such titles.
